Margaret Carreno, 91, of Topeka, passed away on March 23, 2015 at Aldersgate Village. She was born June 10, 1923 in Celaya, GTO, Mexico, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guerrero. Margaret retired from Seymour Foods. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and crocheting. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was a former member of the Legion of Mary. Margaret married Tony R. Carreno and together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2012. She is survived by her children, Maria Whitcomb, Tony "Little Tony" (Patricia) Carreno, Mary Lou (Bill) Kramer and Guy (Connie) Carreno, a sister, Esther and a brother Raul. Ten Grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren also survive. She was also preceded in death by a son Guy Carreno in 1951 and a grandson, James Wayne Carreno in 1968. Margaret was cremated. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be held later in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
