Geneva E. Berry, 96, of Topeka, died March 1, 2015 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born in Osage County, Missouri, the daughter of Alex and Emma (Starke) Lock. She married Ivan K. Berry on May 15, 1944 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1988. Geneva's passions were her family and her church and she enjoyed making quilts for the Holy Name Church Bazaar and many quilts for family, even after she lost her vision. She was a great cook, and she volunteered at Holy Name Church where she was a proud member since 1944. She was also a member of the St. Francis Auxiliary, spending many happy hours with her friends making heart pillows. She loved crocheting, making beautiful bedspreads and tablecloths. Survivors include her children, JoAnn (Robert) Sutton of Santa Barbara, California; her sons, Don Berry and Robert J. (Yvonne) Berry, both of Topeka; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Lock Koger, two brothers, Harold Lock, Alex Lock, and a son Kenneth Paul Berry in infancy. Geneva will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
