Barbara Ruth Killam, 76, of Topeka, died January 16, 2015 at her home. She was born in Wamego, Kansas on October 25, 1938, the daughter of Milton and Alice (Lintz) Marten. Barbara worked for 42 years as a Registered Nurse, for the St. Francis, Stormont-Vail, and Veterans Administration Hospitals. She enjoyed reading, watching game shows on television, doing all kinds of puzzles, and time with her family. She married Howard Daniel Killam Jr. on June 6, 1970 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2009. Survivors include her children, Steve D. (Bridget) Killam, and Melody Ann Killam, a granddaughter Olivia Dawn Killam, and a brother, Thomas Marten all of Topeka. She was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Hess. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21st, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
