Duane A. Niemackl, 77, of Topeka, died January 2, 2015 at the House at Midland Care. He was born on August 3, 1937 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Donald Joseph and Rose Marie (Reeb) Niemackl. He served in the Army Reserves. Duane worked in real estate and investments. He owned and operated Heritage Realtors. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, polka dancing, western movies, was a history buff and collected German memorabilia. He will be most remembered for his love of life and being a wonderful "Grandpa". Duane was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and AHSGR. He married Luana R. Broxterman at St. Joseph Parish on April 26, 1958. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Danae Price of Topeka, Diane (Brian) Busby of Edmond, Oklahoma, Douglas (Linda) Niemackl, Daniel (Rebecca) Niemackl and Debi (Steve) Smith all of Topeka, eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his brother Don E. "Todge" (Denise) Niemackl of Overland Park, Kansas. Duane will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday after 4:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:30 p.m. Private interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
