Angelina Olivarez, 92, of Topeka, died November 25, 2014 at The House at Midland Care. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 16, 1922, the daughter of Encarnacion and Tranquelina (Ramirez) Olivarez Rangel Angelina, a former FIESTA Queen, moved to San Diego in her early twenties. She worked as a sales clerk in department stores and was a co owner in the restaurant business with a friend in the San Diego area. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, plants and trees, and charity work with the Immaculate Conception Mission Church in Old Town San Diego where she was a member for 70 years. She is survived by a sister Guadalupe Carrasco of Phoenix, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews. Angelina will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Friday where the family will receive friends until 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Carpet Fund or to Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66603.
