Tiburcio Araiza Rangel, 76, of Mason, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Eaton Pallitive Care surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 17, 1938. Tiburcio was one of thirteen children born to Tiburcio G. and Eulojia (Araiza) Rangel. He is survived by his children, Leslee Rangel-Ray of Lawrence, Kansas, Carl Rangel (Jenny) of South Lyon, MI, and Mike Rangel (Meaghan) of Mason, MI, as well as six grandchildren, Jordan, Murphy, Marcus and Brittany Ray, Gwyneth and Miles Rangel; and his sister Carmen (Rudy) Rangel-Perez of Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Anne Simon Rangel, his parents and siblings, Edward, Raymond, Jose, John, Fidel, Aurora, Dolores, Felipe and three in infancy. Tiburcio, also known as TA, Butch or Tib was a story teller. He loved to tell stories of the past as well as share life's lessons. TA had a passion for sports, coaching when his children were young, and enjoyed watching football, baseball, soccer and basketball. Butch spent many years working in the field of social work and teaching migrant workers English. He found good comfort in spending his time walking and mowing his yard. Butch found great joy in playing with his grandkids. He was a Loving Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Brother. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
