Dianna K. Meier, 64, of Big Springs, KS died September 5, 2014 at her home. She was born September 11, 1949 in Topeka, KS the daughter of William and Mary (Pickett) Nichols. For the greater part of Dianna's career she was CNA at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in the Radiology and Occupational Health Departments. She also worked as a LPN at Stormont-Vail Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and in food services for Shawnee Heights School District. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Perry, KS, the Lecompton Historical Society and the Kansas Prairie Pickers Association. Dianna married Ron Meier on April 3, 1970 at Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka, KS. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Amy Meier of Olathe, Jason Meier of Lawrence, her siblings, Bill Nichols and his wife Mary of Topeka, Janet Vorhies and her husband Ken of Lawrence. A granddaughter Kim Meier and a great granddaughter Khloe Meier of Big Springs also survive. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 203 E. 3rd Street, Perry, KS. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with a luncheon to follow in the Parish Hall. Inurnment will be at a later date.
