Carolina Charay Esquibel

Carolina Charay Esquibel, 56, of Topeka, died August 23, 2014 at The House at Midland Care. She was born on November 16, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Daniel and Rita (Segura) Charay. Carolina worked as a retail clerk. She enjoyed decorating her home during the holidays and cooking. She married Steven Jarrell on March 31, 2000 in Wichita, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Rita Charay of Topeka, her daughter, Danielle Esquibel of Birmingham, Alabama, her sons, Hasan Anderson and Jameel Anderson, both of Topeka, four sisters, Virginia Davis of Lenexa, Kansas, Diana Miller of Topeka, Connie Kingcannon of Cleveland, Ohio, Loretta King of Topeka, two brothers, Daniel Charay Jr. and Dale Charay, both of Topeka, and 12 grandchildren. Carolina was preceded in death by her father and a brother Paul Charay. Carolina will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a parish rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Midland Hospice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
