Doris Joann Kelley

Doris Joann Kelley of Afton, OK passed away Thursday July 17, 2014 at Grove General Hospital in Grove, OK. She was 79. Mrs. Kelley was born November 21, 1934 in Galena, KS to Martin T. and Thelma E. (Duree) Phillips. She had lived in Topeka, KS most of her life, moving from Houston, TX to Afton, OK six month ago. She was a homemaker and graduated from Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe, KS. She was a member of the Topeka Deaf Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Floyd Kelley, her parents and 3 sisters Betty Roach, Minnie Woods and Katty Martin. Survivors include her son Randy Lance Kelley of Afton, OK, three daughters Sheila Lisa Mueller and husband Rob of Topeka, KS, Sandra L. Kelley of Afton, OK and Shelly Ann Holloway and husband John of Topeka, KS, her brother Martin Phillips of Irving, TX and four sisters Lena Sparks of Greers Ferry, AR, Amanda Johnson of Galena, KS, Mildred McKinley of Galena, KS, and Lottie Ludlum of Welch, OK. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Doris will lie in state after 11:00 a.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 12:45 p.m. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery.
