Frederick Eugene Hilton, 67, of Topeka, died July 13, 2014 at the House at Midland Care after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Topeka on October 16, 1946 the son of Doris (Metzler) Hilton. He attended Highland Park High School. Fred worked for Santa Fe Railway Company as a Manager of Computer Operation until 1991. At that time he and his family moved to Washington where he owned Hans Fritz Motors in Yakima, WA and later Stonehenge Tavern in Zillah, WA. He enjoyed working with wood, watching racing, his grandchildren playing sports, and the Kansas Jayhawks. He is survived by three children, Troy (Amy) Hilton of Olathe, Shane (Chrissy) Hilton of Topeka, and Doreen (Ryan) Weekley of Carbondale, nine grandchildren and two step grandchildren. Fred married Dianne Bahnmaier and they later divorced. Fred will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. where his family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Church of Christ, 1250 SW College, Topeka. Interment will follow in Stull Cemetery, Stull, Kansas.
