Helen A. Stockton, 93, of Topeka, Kansas, died July 10, 2014 at Lexington Park Assisted Living. She was born July 12, 1920 the daughter of John Thomas and Amelia "Emma" (Schalansky) Claudell. Helen married Walter Wayne Stockton on April 19, 1941 in Osborne, Kansas. Helen enjoyed cooking, playing pitch and pinnocle with friends. She also embroidered baptismal bibs for church. She was a charter member of Most Pure Heart and Christ the King Catholic Churches. She is survived by her children: Vicki J. Cunningham of Topeka, Sam (Linda) Stockton of Martin, Tennessee, and Bill (Pam) Stockton of Northwood, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John, Milan, J. Ellis, Velma, Christina, and an infant sister. Helen will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Sunday where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mission Center Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Helen's memory to Christ the King Catholic Church or to Grace Hospice sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
