David Robert Gomez

David Robert Gomez, 48, of Topeka, died June 28, 2014 at the House at Midland Care. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 12, 1965 the son of Angel and Rebecca (Padilla) Gomez. David was a welder with the University of Kansas for the past 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bicycle riding, music and watching the KU Jayhawks. David married Maria Chavez in Topeka on August 7, 1987. She survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Andrea Gomez and Angelica (Luis) Labrador both of Topeka, five grandchildren, Ayanna Reynoso, Christian Labrador, Jaiden Labrador, Natalia Green, and Aiden Labrador, two brothers, Daniel Gomez of Valley Falls and Christopher Gomez of Topeka and his step-parents, Delbert and Carmen Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Pedro Gomez. David was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 11th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
