Mary Elizabeth Powell

Mary E. Powell, 96, of Topeka, KS died June 19, 2014 at Manor Care. She was born September 27, 1917 in Coeur d'Alene, ID the daughter of Ira and Etta (Rhoades) Weidler. Before retirement Mary worked as a bookkeeper at McCaig Plumbing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she volunteered in the Genealogy Library. Mary was married to Galen Powell, he preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by two sons, Bill Powell of Orem, UT and Larry Powell of Rogers, AK. Nine grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter also survive. She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Mary will lie in state after 9:30 a.m. Monday at LDS, 2401 SW Kingsrow RD where the family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.
