Donna Lea Homan, 74, of Topeka, Kansas, died May 29, 2014 at the House at Midland Care. She was born March 8, 1940 in Princeton, Kansas the daughter of Alfred and Alma (Watts) Harr. Donna worked for the Topeka State Hospital and then for the State of Kansas as the SRS Secretary for 25 years before retiring in 2000. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, decorating, bird watching, fishing, and outdoor activities. She took 2nd place in lawn beautification in Oakland. Her family was her number one priority. Donna was known to be the life of the party and was fun to be around. Donna married Ray D. Homan on May 9, 1980. He survives. She is also survived by her son Ron Saegert of Lawrence, her siblings, Dixie D. Wall of Madison, Mississippi, Leo M. (Cory) Harr of Nashua, New Hampshire, Connie F. Sears of Topeka, Kay E. (Joe) Henton of Overland Park, Kansas, and a grandson Jesse Saegert of Lawrence. Donna will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, where the family will greet friends until 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
