Melba "Jean" Stinson, 91, of Topeka, KS, died April 28, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born August 25, 1922, in Horton, Missouri, the daughter of Christian and Laura (Burke) Harris. She married Ner "Buzz" A. Stinson on May 13, 1944 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2000. Jean worked as a dental assistant in Topeka for over 25 years. She also worked as a YMCA Senior Water Aerobics Instructor until she turned 91. Jean is survived by a son Ron Stinson and his wife Sue of Shawnee, Kansas, a daughter Pam Wilson and her husband Richard of Topeka, grandchildren: Scott Stinson, Deborah Hewitt, John Brill III, Dawn Marie Brill, and a great-grandson LCPL Jonathan Hewitt. Jean was also preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Kay Stinson. A graveside inurnment service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia, Kansas.
