Rose Edna McMurphy, 80, of Topeka, died April 11, 2014 at Manor Care of Topeka. She was born on March 18, 1934 in Seneca the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Enneking) Osterhaus Sr. Rose was a homemaker. She was an active volunteer and member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and formerly of Holy Name. Rose is survived by her children, Cathy Levondosky of Wichita, Ks., Larry (Jeanie) McMurphy of Warrensburg, Mo., Robert (Brenda) McMurphy, Edward McMurphy and Russell McMurphy all of Topeka, her siblings, Gladys Ennis, Vince, Clarence and Melvin Osterhaus. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren Danielle, David, Tina, Justin, Ryan, Kelli, Shelby, Jessica, Ashley, Megan, and Casey and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Wittmer and brothers, Ray, Joe and Kenny Osterhaus, and a granddaughter. Rose will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
