Tillie Rock

Tillie Rock, 90, of Topeka, died April 7, 2014 at Lexington Park Assisted Living. She was born on January 20, 1924 in St. Joseph, Missouri and was one of eleven children born to Peter and Rose (Wolanski) Rock. Tillie was retired for the Topeka Atchison and Santa Fe Railway Company where she worked as a clerk for over 35 years. Tillie played baseball for many years and she enjoyed gambling, fishing, and playing bingo. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Tillie never knew a stranger and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by two sisters; Rosie Kieffer and Catherine Helsel, both of St. Joseph, Missouri, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Mt.
