Barbara Ellen Turk

Barbara Ellen Turk, 80, of Topeka, died April 6, 2014 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 15, 1933 the daughter of Lawrence I. and Barbara Ann (Brenner) Turk. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Hayden High School. She was retired from the State of Kansas Motor Vehicle Department. She loved watching sports and crocheting. Barbara was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Parish and a sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Gilbert S. Turk in 2005, Francis L. Turk in 1998 and Doris Turk Baer in 2007. Barbara is survived by two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Turk Erickson of Marion, Kansas and Nell Turk of Houston, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Dei Holy Name Parish. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
