Rita Sue Haverkamp, 56 of Silver Lake, died April 6, 2014. Rita was born on February 1, 1958 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd and Bonnie (Vannocker) Moore. She worked for the State of Kansas as a contract manager. Rita enjoyed cooking, watching television with her dog Krissie, and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Rita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rita married Robert Amyx in 1978 and later divorced. She married Lynn V. Haverkamp on June 5, 1994 in Silver Lake, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include her mother and step-father, Norman and Bonnie Knapp of Burlington, Kansas; her son, Bill Amyx of Topeka; five step daughters, Deandra Kay Wahl of Minneapolis, Kansas, Monica Sue Haverkamp of Lawrence, Kansas, Jennifer Lynn Robinson of Littleton, Colorado, Sarah Ann Haverkamp of Peck, Idaho, and Rachel Nicole Haverkamp of Lawrence, Kansas; nine grandchildren, six step grandchildren, one step great grandchild, and a brother Doug Moore of Gridley, Kansas. Rita was preceded in death by her father. Family will receive visitors after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Topeka. A parish rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery following the mass.
