Martin S. Klotzbach, 80, of Topeka died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born August 6, 1933 in Manhattan, KS the son of Martin, Sr and Reva (Venard) Klotzbach. Martin graduated Sacred Heart Catholic High School, Salina, KS, in 1951. After high school, he was drafted into the Army serving during the Korean War. He then attended and graduated from Kansas State University where he earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration. Martin retired after 45 years from KPL/Westar as Manager of Systems Planning. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the James W. Gibbons Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, the National and Kansas Societies of Sons of the American Revolution, the National Society of Electrical Engineers and was a life member of Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW and MOC. Martin performed as the grandfather for over 30 years in the Ballet Midwest's Nutcracker. He was the 1976 Commodore of the Shawnee Lake Yacht Club and was a cardio rehabilitation volunteer at St. Francis and Stormont-Vail Hospitals. Martin enjoyed researching genealogy, sail boating, KSU sporting events, playing cards, and spending time with family. He married Theresa Rose Breit on October 3, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his three daughters, Stacy Kueser and her husband Owen of Francis, UT, Katrina Salts and her husband G.V. of Temecula, CA, Tania Azar and her husband Marc of Carlsbad, CA, four siblings, Marion J. Klotzbach and his wife Mary Joyce of Salina, Nancy Nix and her husband Stan of Alvin, TX, Jean Ramberg and her husband Ronald, Sr. of Topeka and Coralie Miller and her husband Kirk of Richardson, TX. Seven grandchildren, Grace Kueser-Squires, Brooke Kueser, Emily Kueser, Grant Salts, Hope Salts, Addison Azar and Hudson Azar also survive. Martin will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Rosary and Chalice Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Parish Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by the Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW.
