Cynthia May Spaulding, 89 of Meriden died March 5, 2014. She was born August1, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of William Joseph and Ceres (Twitchell) Caldwell. Though the years Cynthia held many different jobs but the one she enjoyed the most was spending time on her farm. She loved Jersey Cattle, sewing, cooking, baking, gardening and solving Bible word searches. She married Virgil Wayne Spaulding in Manhattan, KS in 1961. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1988. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Victoria Bruce, two brothers, William Caldwell, Jr. and David Caldwell. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie O'Hare of Tulsa, OK, Andrea Rodriguez and her husband Michael of Meriden, KS, two sisters, Elizabeth Vail of PA and Nancy Pauw of Ottawa, KS. Philip McFarland Spaulding and 8 other grandchildren along with several great grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Meriden Cemetery.
