Lillian Marie Terry, 79, of Topeka, died February 23, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1935 the daughter of Isidore and Bertha (Urban) Pfannenstiel in Antonino, Kansas. Lillian worked briefly at Southwestern Bell as an operator, but primarily spent her life supporting her husband, sons and family. She loved animals and was remarkable in her ability to foster relationships with wild animals, and often they became so tame that she could nearly touch them. While she was reserved and private, she laughed easily and saw humor in many day to day activities. She grew up around Hays, Kansas and moved to several other locations in the Midwest before settling in the Perry, Kansas area. It was there that she met her lifelong friend, Marion L. Terry whom she was married to for 61 years. He predeceased her on July 20, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a younger sister, Rosemary Simmons, a brother James Pfannenstiel, and a grandson, Matt Terry. Lillian was a homemaker and mother to three sons, Michael, Mitchell and Joseph. She is survived by her three sons and their families, four grandchildren, Christy Wiens, Jake Terry, James Terry and Jeremy Barrand, three great grandchildren, and a younger sister, Velma Kopren. Lillian will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited by Fr. Tim Haberkorn at 7:00 P.M. Cremation will follow the visitation with private inurnment at a later date.
