James H. "Jim" Bunck, 85 of Silver Lake, Kansas died January 22, 2014 at his home. He was born March 15, 1928 in Everest, Kansas, the son of Herman and Marcelline (Hagel) Bunck. He graduated from Everest High School in 1946. He lived at Everest and farmed until moving to rural Topeka in 1955 where he farmed. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 32 years before he retired in 1988. Mr. Bunck was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka. He married Louise Eck on May 16, 1953 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Effingham, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Diane Cray of Silver Lake, Debbie Flores of Broomfield, CO., one son, Dennis (Terri) Bunck of Bourbonnais, IL., a sister Jean Earp of Everest, Ks. and eight grandchildren. Jim will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January, 26th at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
