Alden Harold "Mac" McDonald, 87, Topeka, KS died January 19, 2014 at the House at Midland Care. He was born March 20, 1926 in Hastings, Nebraska the son of Dr. Harold and Marian (Engel) McDonald. Mac served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a Journeyman Electrician working for IBEW Local # 226. Mac was a member of the Community Church of Topeka and was active in missions all over the world. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Weaver) McDonald of the home, their daughter, Shari (Ed) Halloran of Topeka, two grandsons, James Edward (Becki) Halloran of Topeka, Jeffrey Alden (Becky) Halloran of Littleton, Colorado and seven great grandchildren. Mac will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Community Church of Topeka, 1819 SW 21st Street. Interment will follow in Topeka Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the V.F.W.
