Verna Lou Reilly, 88, formerly of Topeka died Monday, January 13, 2014 in Tonganoxie, KS. She was born September 13, 1925 in St. Clere, KS the daughter of Carl and Velma (Godlove) Page. Verna worked for a short time as a secretary at Kansas State University and Goodyear Tire and Rubber before becoming a homemaker. She was a founding member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church Verna married Edward Reilly on November 26, 1947 in Emmett, KS. He preceded her in death January 23, 2000. She is survived by a son Brian Reilly and his wife Mary of Tonganoxie, a daughter, Connie Williams and her husband Richard of Platte City, MO, along with five grandchildren, Ben Reilly, Grace Reilly, Martin Reilly, Rose Reilly, Pat Beach and a great granddaughter, Emily Beach. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lyle William Page and a sister, Edith Carlene Page. She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Emmett, KS. The family suggests contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
