Carol Ann Torres

Carol Ann Torres, 59, of Topeka, passed away January 11, 2014. She was born on November 22, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Silvino and Caroline (Espinosa) Gomez. Carol married Isidoro G. Torres on July 20, 1974 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2007. She is survived by her mother Caroline Gomez of Topeka, her daughters, Sonya Torres Gardenhire, Silvie Lynn Torres, and Julie Torres, all of Topeka, Kansas, five sisters, Sylvia (Steve) Litwin, Oceanside, California, Debbie (Art) Gomez, Cindy (David) Harper, Joann Gomez-Oliver, and Denise (Chuck) Gomez, all of Topeka, 4 grandchildren, Marcus Jones, Mya Jones, Xavier Koerth, and Lauren Koerth, 5 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Carol was also preceded in death by her father. Carol will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., with a parish rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
