Carolyn R. Baumchen

Carolyn R. Baumchen, 61, of Topeka died January 2, 2014 at Rolling Hills Health Center. She was born December 8, 1952 in Westmoreland, KS the daughter of Clarence and Rose Marie (Holder) Prockish. Carolyn was a Clerk in Medical Records at St. Francis Hospital. She was a member the American Legion Post #400. She is survived by three sons, Ryan Baumchen and his wife, Kristie of Topeka, Curtis Baumchen and his wife Jaime of Delia, Darrin Baumchen and his fiancée Ashley of Topeka, two sisters Nancy Willcutt and her husband Bill of Wamego, Becky Glotzbach and her husband Steve of Topeka and a brother-in-law, Jerry Briggs. Five grandchildren, Madie, Tyler, Aiden, Jaycie, and Rylan also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Judy Briggs. Carolyn will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday at the St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Wamego.
