Christina Hernandez, 84, of Topeka, died November 27, 2013 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on October 28, 1929 the daughter of Antonio Luna and Cristina (Alfaro) Gutierrez. Christina was a retired CMA and had worked in housekeeping for Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, music and flower crafts. Family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed family gatherings and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchild. She married Paul O. Hernandez on September 30, 1949 in Topeka. They later divorced. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Nina D. Hernandez, Susanna M. Hernandez and Deb (Jeffery) Hunter, three grandchildren, Jade Warren, Monica Kieffer and Michael James Hernandez and a great grandchild, Jamison Warren. Christina was preceded in death by two sons, Michael J. Hernandez and Vincent D. Gutierrez. She will lie in state at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
