Mary Ann (Domme) Padgett, 83, of Topeka, died October 19, 2013 at Plaza West Care Center. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 16, 1930 the daughter of Aloysius and Elizabeth (Stadler) Domme. She was a homemaker. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening, cooking - especially homemade noodles, sewing, and babysitting for many families children for over 20 years. She was an active volunteer at Hayden Pace Auction, the Library at Sacred Heart Grade School, and Germanfest. She was an avid KU Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mary Ann was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish, Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle #503, the Altar Society at church and the Third Order of St. Francis. She married William F. "Bill" Padgett in Topeka, Kansas on September 4, 1950. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. He survives. She is also survived by five daughters, Mary Beth (Randy) Lyden of Topeka, Debbie (Gary, deceased) Tompkins of Topeka, Angie (Rick) Essman of Grantville, Margie (Ron) Flax of Topeka, Jeanie (Dave) Gunn of Berryton, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Peachie Domme of Albuquerque, NM and Neva Padgett of Topeka. Mary Ann will lie in state at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday after 4:00 p.m. where rosaries will be recited by the Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle #503 at 4:30 p.m., Altar Society at 5:30 p.m. and the Parish at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
