Rosemary A. Smith

Rosemary A. Smith, 67, of Topeka, died October 13, 2013 at the House at Midland. She was born in Washington DC on October 7, 1946 the daughter of John L. and Ruth (Cook) Smith. She was a 1965 graduate of High Point High School in College Point, Maryland. Rosemary retired in October of 1998 from the V.A. Hospital where she had been a Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling. Rosemary is survived by a brother, Charles R. Smith of Lincoln, Nebraska, an aunt, LaVon Wead of Topeka and five cousins, Don Bower, Barbara Utz, Michael Counihan, Jerry Ford and Barbara Brown. Rosemary will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
