Norman E. "Jack" Henderson, 72, of Topeka, died October 3, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 24, 1941, the son of James and Juanita Smith. He was a graduate of Topeka High School. Jack worked as a tire builder for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was an avid KU Jayhawk fan. He was a member of the Ebony Bowling League in Topeka, and he enjoyed traveling with his friends to visit the Las Vegas casinos. Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother James Smith, Jr., and his longtime partner, Lucille Luster. He is survived by a brother, Marlin Henderson and a sister, Loyce Jean Lafleur both of Topeka, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home at 11am. Inurnment will be at a later date.
