Jerry F. Maendele, 78, of Topeka, died July 31, 2013 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born in Marysville, Kansas on September 14, 1934 the youngest son of ten children to Harry and Maude May (Harrison) Maendele. He was a 1952 graduate of the Marysville High School. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from November 1952 to November 1960 and was in the Naval Reserve from 1963 to 1978. He was a member of the American Legion Post #400. He was retired on February 18, 1994 from the State of Kansas as a Computer Operations Manager. Jerry was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an avid KU Basketball fan. He married Charlotte A. Reedy in Marysville, Kansas on October 30, 1957. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Mark A. (Susan) Maendele , Pamela A. Matalone, Kristina M. (David) Tabon, and Bob M. (Dawn) Maendele all of Topeka, a brother Forrest Maendele of Marysville, Kansas, and one sister, Joan Clowe of Marysville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jerry will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
