Harry Leroy Gallaway, 88, of Maple Hill, KS, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Oakley Place Adult Care in Topeka. He was born in Junction City, KS on June 5, 1925, the son of George and Mary (Amtheaur) Gallaway. Harry was served in the Navy during WW II. He was an electrician and a 60 year member of IBEW Local #226. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing five-point pitch. Harry married Madeline Reynozo on September 3, 1948 in Waterloo, IA. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Karen Hill of Holton, a son, George Gallaway and his wife, Debra of Maple Hill. Four grandchildren, Shandy Hill of Harrisburg, PA, Jason Hill of Holton, Katina Barney of Austin, TX, Michael Gallaway of Newville, PA, two step-grandchildren, Johnny and Brent Hill and five great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, John Lee Gallaway, a twin brother, Harvey Gallaway, along with three other siblings, Ernest Gallaway, Franklin Gallaway and Mildred Gfeller. Harry will lie in state after 2:00 pm Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., following the rosary the family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
