Richard Thomas Richards, 57, of Topeka died July 15, 2013 at the House at Midland Care. He was born December 13, 1955 in Ft. Knox, KY the son of Harold and Barbara (Wahl) Richards. Richard attended Kaw Valley VO-Tech were he learned small engine repair. Richard was a machinist for Allis Chalmers until they closed and then worked as a technician for Brooks Billiard Supply. He rebuilt Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed riding them. He was an outdoors person, enjoying fishing, hunting, shooting and gardening. Richard married Denise Lister on August 21, 1976 in Topeka, KS. She survives. He is also survived by a son Geoff Poston (Sherri) of Lawrence, KS a daughter, Heather DeVore (Greg) of Ft. Myers, FL, a brother Gray Richards (Sharon) of Topeka and a sister Nan Shever of Kansas City, MO. Three grandchildren, Trey, Alexis and Saylor also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold "Scoot" and Terry Richards. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where a funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
