Allen R. Teel, 60, Topeka, KS, formerly of Dodge City, KS, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born January 17, 1953 in Dodge City the son of Sonny and Emma (Bartlett) Teel. Allen worked in Dodge City as a carpenter for Fort Dodge Veterans Home until he contracted out to build Excel Packing Plant where he hired on and put in 28 years before moving to Topeka. He worked for Prairie Band Casino & Resort where he was Lead Maintenance for the last 9 years. He also worked part-time and volunteered at the Oakland United Methodist Church for the last 5 years. He was a hardworking man and at one time he held down three jobs. He loved his children and his grandchildren unconditionally. His hobbies were pheasant hunting, fishing for bass, channel cat and watching OU football. He loved working on cars, riding motorcycles and was a long time member of ABATE. He will be truly missed by all his family and friends. Survivors include his three sons, Shane Teel of Centennial, CO, Bryan Teel and Trey Teel both of Topeka, four step-children, Kyla MacLaren and Elijah MacLaren both of Phoenix, AZ, Heather Riley of Topeka, and Angela Riley of Padre Island, TX. His brother Jack Steiger of Menlow, KS, a sister, Jeanette Ward of Pratt, KS and eight grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 300 p.m. Saturday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a memorial services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Allen was cremated.
