Guadalupe Guerrero-Mitchell

Guadalupe Guerrero Mitchell, 88 of Topeka, Kansas, died Friday, December 14, 2012 at her residence in Sutherlin, Virginia. Born December 4, 1924 in Topeka, she was the daughter of the late Candido Guerrero and Modesta C. Granado. She was married to Maynard "Buck" Mitchell who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and one grandson. Her survivors are three daughters Rose Marie Adams and her husband Abraham of Vacherie, LA, Mary Shepard of Kansas City, KS, and Elizabeth Warren and her husband Charlie of Sutherlin, VA; one son Daniel Mitchell and his wife Mary of Topeka, KS; two brothers Richard Guerrero and his wife Linda and Candido Guerrero and his wife Ernestina all from Topeka; four sisters Sarah Mosqueda, Rebecca Guerrero, Rachelle Rodriquez and her husband Phil, and Carol Guerrero all from Topeka; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday morning from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Anthony Ouellette. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to Elizabeth Warren, 261 Walk Lane, Sutherlin, VA 24594.
