Clara Deloris Mendoza Muñoz

The glue that held our family together, the one we could least do without. Clara Deloris Mendoza Muñoz of Topeka, KS, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her many loving friends and family at Saint Francis Health Center on December 8, 2012. One week shy of her 73rd birthday. In death she has been embraced by her beloved mother and father, Faustino and Juana (Salinas) Mendoza. In life she was a dedicated homemaker who put her family above all else. No sacrifice was too great, no task too large. Ask and it was yours. Speak and she would listen. In her arms was the most loving and safest place any of us could ever ask for. She was truly the glue that held our family together, the one we could least do without. She was truly all things to all people. She was the wife of Anastasio M. Muñoz for 48 years. They were married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on May 23, 1964. He survives. Together they had three daughters; Juanita M. (Gary) West, Bianca M. (Kenny) Bouton, and Anastasia Marie Muñoz. A sister to her surviving siblings; Eustolia Rivas, Helen Burns, Deloris Bowers, Rose Marie Escobar, Faustino Mendoza, Jr. and Raymond Mendoza. Grandmother to seven apples-of-her-eye and great-grandmother to five. She was our best friend, confidant, and caretaker. Our rock, our heart, soul, our whole world. Now that she's gone, how do we go on from here. Clara will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where her family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested in her memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
