Don Edward Roberts, 78, of Topeka, died November 18, 2012 at Lexington Park Care Center. He was born in Centralia, Kansas on January 6, 1934 the son of William Austin and Ella Bertha (Magers) Roberts. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Washburn University with a degree in Business Administration. Don worked as a Certified Public Accountant for the Federal Government until his retirement in 1987 due to health issues. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the American Legion Post in Centralia, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Don loved the country and farming. He married Eleanor Dinkel at the Church of the Assumption in Topeka on October 17, 1953. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Karen (Stan) Horn of Basehor, Kathleen (John) VanDyke of Tonganoxie, Jeffrey Roberts of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mary Ellen (John) Abernathy of McClouth, nine grandchildren, Jeffrey, Justin, Daniel, Jacquelyn, Michael, Jason, Alicia, Heather and Stephanie, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Roberts on March 1, 2008 and by three sisters, Luella Wathen, Doris Barrager, and Lorene Corn. Don was cremated. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. n Saturday, November 24th followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Centralia Cemetery in Centralia, Kansas.
