Harland H. Harris, 92, of Topeka, died October 20, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. He was born in Hewitt, Minnesota on June 25, 1920 the son of Harold and Edna (Jollife) Harris. He was a 1939 graduate of Wadena High School in Wadena, Minnesota. Harland served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Salesman for Pabst Blue Ribbon and had worked for General Mills in the Sales District Center at his retirement. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith. Harland enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. He was married to Effie "Jackie" Kurtti on June 2, 1945 in Wadena, Minnesota at St. Helen?s Church. She predeceased him in 1993, as did his two sisters, Arlene Brown and Trudy Johnson. Harland is survived by two sons, Philip (Joan) Harris of Ottawa, Ks., and Lee (Tharon) Harris of Topeka, four granddaughters, Jennifer Harris, Krystal (Craig) Watkins, Lisa Harris and Carrie (Cody Staab) Harris, and four great grandchildren, Kamryn, Emily, Devin and Cooper. He was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 26th at 3:00 pm at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Wadena Cemetery in Wadena, Minnesota.
