Richard Lee Ensley, 53, of Topeka, died October 17, 2012 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Manhattan, Kansas on January 27, 1959 the son of Gene and Shirley (Newman) Ensley. He worked as a Plumber for over 20 years and the last seven years of his career was as a Union Plumber with Local #441 Plumber and Pipefitters prior to his disability. Richard enjoyed watching wrestling, dancing, listening to music, hunting and being a grandpa. He played football in college. He was a member of St. Matthew Church. Richard married Christa Saville in Topeka, Kansas on June 9, 1995. She survives. He is also survived by his children; Richard (Heidi) Ensley of Wichita, Dustin Ensley of Topeka, Amanda (Jorge) Merida of Topeka, Clay Wangerin of Topeka, April Wangerin of Topeka and Chase Ensley of the home, two brothers, Steve (Joy) Ensley of Ames, Iowa and James Roy (Rebecca) Ensley of Topeka, and four grandchildren, Reagan, Bryan, Anthony and Raelyn. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Ensley. He will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
