Anthony Paul Deghand

Anthony "Tony" Paul Deghand, 51, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Midland Hospice Care. Tony was born December 11, 1960 in Topeka, the son of Raymond and Barbara (Vorhies) Deghand. He was a graduate of Hayden High School and Washburn University. He was previously employed by Westar Energy. Tony was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Peggy Ann McGinnis on May 2, 1987 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She survives. He is also survived by a son, Nathaniel "Nate" Deghand of Topeka, his mother, Barbara Deghand of Topeka, a brother, Raymond Deghand, Jr. and his wife Diana of Shawnee, KS, three sisters, Theresa Tetuan and her husband John, Sandy Short and her husband Kevin, Cheryl Deuser and her husband Patrick, all of Topeka, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Tony was preceded in death by his twin baby daughters, a brother, Master Sergeant Bernie Deghand and his father, Raymond Deghand, Sr. Tony will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
