Edward Merrill "Ed" aka "Ned" Burgardt, 80, died September 26, 2012 at Rolling Hills Health Center. He was born on October 27, 1931 the son of Reuben Richard and Mary Gladys (McGinnis) Wolfe. He was later adopted and raised by Albert John Burgardt. Ed was a 1949 graduate of Hayden High School. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and was discharged as a Ssgt. He worked for the AT & SF Railway Company for 10 years as a Clerk Typist. He enjoyed learning about all aspects of automobiles and metal detecting. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Victoria "Vicki". Ed is survived by his siblings, Richard R. (Martha) Burgardt of Arlington, TX., his twin, John M. (Janelle) Burgardt of Topeka, Mary C. Brennan of Topeka, James R. (Kathy) Burgardt of Oakland, CA., and Helen E. Rivera of Topeka and many nieces and nephews. Ed was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Mt.
