Georgia M. "Pete" Dinger, 81, of Mayetta, KS, died September 14, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Gaye Wheeler in Mayetta, KS. Georgia was born January 1, 1931 in Athens, West Virginia, the daughter of Dewey Alvin and Mary Edith (Gearhart) Higginbotham. She lived on a farm in Athens before moving to Topeka in August, 1989 to be a homemaker. Georgia enjoyed vegetable and rose gardening, crafts, quilting, reading the Bible and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons, William K. "Willie" Dinger and his wife Renalyn of Scranton, KS, Chuck L. Dinger and his wife Ann of Topeka, Ronnie J. Dinger and his wife Cheri of Mayetta, KS; three daughters, Gaye Wheeler and her husband Don and Betty A. Boatright, both of Mayetta, KS, Donna M. Maxfield and her husband Lewis of Kingsport, TN; one sister, Lorene Pettrey of Connelly Springs, NC. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Half Day Cemetery.
