Laurine Cullison, 86, of Topeka, died June 5, 2013 at the House at Midland Care. She was born February 27, 1927 in Hays, KS the daughter of Aquilinus and Rose (Frank) Leiker. Laurine was a Payroll Clerk at Payless Shoes. She was a member of Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Laurine worked many years at Let?s Help. Laurine enjoyed cooking, caring for her family, and was a devoted wife and "Mother" to many who knew her. She was especially proud of being a loving Grammy. Laurine was a "character" who had a way with words. She married Leonard W Cullison on April 5, 1951 in Hays, KS. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Vicki Cullison of Topeka, two sons, Mark Cullison of Ft. Scott, KS and Curtis (Annette) Cullison of Hendersonville, TN, two brothers, Francis "Bud" (Jean) Leiker of DeSoto, KS and Harold (Patty) Leiker of Olathe, KS. Two grandchildren Macy Rose Cullison and Colby Cullison also survive. A combined Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 4:00 pm. Tuesday at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. They will lie in state Tuesday following Mass at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m. They will lie in state Wednesday at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W Wall Street in Ft. Scott after 12:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends until 2:00 pm. Graveside services for Mr. & Mrs. Cullison will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Ft. Scott National Cemetery.
