Patricia A. Heffern Fineout, 84, died August 30, 2012 at Palmetto, FL. She was born May 1, 1928, eldest daughter of Patrick T. and Eula (Himes) Heffern at Neosha Falls, Woodson Co. Kansas. She graduated from Waverly High School, attended Washburn University and Manatee Community College in Bradenton, FL. She was married to Clarence W. Fineout on April 6, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1974. Mrs. Fineout was librarian for the Wichita Genealogy Society, Vice President of the Topeka Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and Secretary-Treasurer of the Eastboro Merchant?s Association in Topeka. She was employed in Wichita, Kansas by the Wichita Beacon and Wichita Eagle newspapers. In Topeka, she was employed as bookkeeper and accountant by various firms. She moved from Topeka to Palmetto, FL in June of 1991 and was employed by the City of Palmetto, FL until her retirement in October of 1999. Survivors include a sister Emily "Kathy" Rankin of Palmetto, FL, one niece, Carolyn Nero of Rayne, LA, 3 nephews, Lawrence L. Phifer of Ormond Beach, FL, Daniel D. Phifer of Corpus Christie, TX, and James J. Phifer of River Ridge, LA. A Funeral Mass was held in Florida on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she was a member. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m, Friday, September 7, 2012 at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka.
