Ernest Daniel Ehrhart Sr. 83, of Osage City, died August 28, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. He was born in St. Marys, Kansas on October 1, 1928 the son of Lewis A. and Agnes (Schraeder) Ehrhart. Ernie was a Truck Driver for Fleming Foods for over 37 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Osage City, Kansas, a former member of the Church of the Assumption, and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council #7769. Ernie enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, card playing and was a small animal farmer. He married Elizabeth Jane Moritz at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka on October 20, 1951. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2008. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Ehrhart of 1960 and one brother Frank Ehrhart. Survivors include one son, Ernest Daniel Ehrhart Jr. and wife Michelle of Osage city, Ks., two daughters, Teresa Carney and husband Steven of Axton, VA., and Sara Beuchat and husband Wayne of Sapulpa, Ok., nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Ernie will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 3:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Holy Name Church with interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
