Randall Dee "Randy" Herman, 58, of Topeka, died August 8, 2012 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Anthony "Tony" and Mary Catherine (Newell) Herman. He was a 1971 graduate of Hayden High School. Randy was a floor installer and refinisher for Bud?s Floor Sanding but most recently was co-owner and co-operator with his wife Suzy at the Prize Package Store. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Some of the things that Randy enjoyed the most were cooking, grilling, yard work, watching westerns and occasionally enjoyed road trips especially to Branson. He was a collector and enjoyed shopping but most of all he liked people and put others first. He enjoyed seeing others happy. He married Susan "Suzy" Cromwell on August 23, 2003 at Assumption Catholic Church. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Mary Catherine Herman of Topeka, his brothers, Michael Herman and his wife Cheryl of Topeka , Thomas Herman and his wife Jo of Meriden, a sister, Patricia Esser and her husband Martin "Bud" of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his father Tony, on August 15, 1998. Randy will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be at a later date.
