Barbara Ann Knoebber

Barbara Ann Knoebber, 84, of Topeka, died July 27, 2012 at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 22, 1927 the daughter of John P. and Catherine (Duman) Stadler. She was a graduate of Capitol Catholic High School in 1946, where she was prom queen, and a member of the National Honor Society. After high school, she worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until she married. She was a devoted wife and mother. Barb was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She loved to cook, paint, and travel. She will be most remembered as an awesome mom and grandma. She was known to always have candy for the kids. She married and is survived by her best friend, W. F. "Bill" Knoebber in Topeka on April 17, 1952. She is also survived by six children, Chris (Barb) Knoebber of Topeka, Susan (Bill) Coffman of Wichita, Kansas, Kathy (B.J.) Crouse of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ann (Bill) Boone of Austin, Texas, twins, Joan (Mike) Orth of Overland Park, Kansas, and Jack (M.J.) Knoebber of Seattle, Washington, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by three sisters, Mary Stadler of Nevada, Gina Matheny of Minnesota, and Sophie Trull of Topeka. She was preceded in death by seven siblings. A Memorial Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. (Please note the two different churches on different days due to construction at St. Matthew.) Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew or St. Joseph Catholic Church and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 S.W. 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
