Kent Harold Larson

Kent Harold Larson, 46, of Topeka, died July 24, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 23, 1966 the son of Kent Shurtleff and Ruby Lee (Compton) Larson. He attended Redwood Elementary in Salt Lake City and was a graduate of East High in Anchorage, Alaska. Kent worked in the Information Technology field as a private consultant. He enjoyed computers , cooking, fishing, old cars, horses, feeding missionaries and making people laugh. Kent enjoyed spending time with his wife watching Chief?s games, going to garage sales, thrift stores and auctions. He especially enjoyed spending time with Kristian, his "superstar" son watching him play his guitar. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Kent married Kathleen Marie Wesley in Topeka, Kansas on August 11, 1995. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Kristian Summers Larson of the home, Amanda Powers of Missouri, Morgan Larson and Kent S. Larson both of Florida, his parents, Kent Larson of Utah and Ruby Larson of Kincaid; grandchildren, Carleigh, Hayley, Bradley, and Gage, and his siblings, Steven Kristiansen and Julie James both of Gusher Utah and Dannielle (Chris) Sanchez of Midvale, Utah and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kent will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 3611 SW Jewell. Graveside Services will be in America City Cemetery in Nemaha County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kristian Summers Larson Fund and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
