Coralie Esser, 88, of Topeka, died July 9, 2012 at the Presbyterian Manor. She was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on October 6, 1923 the daughter of Reuben Earl and Leta Ellen (Hoover) Woodward. Coralie served in the US Navy Waves during World War II. She was a homemaker and a member of Mater Dei Assumption Church and was a volunteer with the Assumption School Library. Coralie married William Esser in Topeka, Kansas on October 30, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 4, 2010. A son, J.B. Esser also predeceased her. She is survived by three daughters, Lydia (Kenneth) Gilliland of Holton, Bonita (Larry) Sanchez of Edgewood, NM, Margaret (Lynn) Covington of Hugo, OK, four sons, William (Maureen) Esser of Medford, OR, Phillip (Cheryl) Esser of Ft. Worth, TX, Michael (Colleen) Esser of Topeka, and Christopher Esser of Moriarty, NM, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Coralie will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
